Summertime in Ukraine

WELCOME TO UKRAINE

"Summertime in Ukraine" is a heartfelt and optimistic documentary about foreign volunteers serving in the International Legion of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

Under the scorching summer sun, we follow the legionnaires as they adjust to the brutal realities of war—and slowly begin to build trust in one another.

The film captures the essence of a warrior’s everyday life in Ukraine: from funny moments with traditional food and unexpected encounters, to intense days at training grounds and real combat missions.

AMPLIFYING THE MESSAGE

The filmmakers' association Babylon’13 approached us to help craft the visual identity for the film — including posters, invites, and promotional materials designed to spark curiosity and draw audiences in.

The results speak for themselves: 19,245 people saw the film in theaters over six weeks, making "Summertime in Ukraine" one of the top five highest-grossing documentaries in Ukrainian cinema history.

A GLIMPSE INTO THE SOUL

The centerpiece poster was inspired by the face of Murray, a unit commander in the International Legion.

His direct gaze reflects both the deep fatigue of enduring a brutal war and the unwavering strength of a warrior determined to complete the mission.

By placing Murray front and center, the poster captures the emotional depth of a man at war — and echoes the director’s commitment to telling an honest yet inspiring story.

THE REFLECTION OF WAR

"Summertime in Ukraine" is a war film for those who don’t usually like war films. It’s harsh, yet filled with hope.

To reinforce its documentary essence, all promotional materials were based on actual footage from the film.

In order to reflect the film’s uplifting tone, we used warm, sunlit colors that highlight the humanity and courage of its heroes.

A PIECE OF HISTORY

Our deepest thanks to the International Legion of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine for their courage and sacrifice—and to Babylon’13 for inviting us to be part of this historic project.
